Online legal documents

Online legal documents are a viable option. When a client asks us to set up a trust or SMSF for them, we need a trust deed. At that moment we have to go somewhere to get this started. And chances are we will go online.

Online Legal Documents

To listen while you drive, walk or work, just access the episode through a podcast app on your mobile phone.

We all deal with legal documents on a daily basis  – trust deeds, SMSF deeds, Div 7A loans, LRBAs, company constitutions and so. How we might get these documents has changed a lot over the past decade. Many of us will get these online and no longer liaise directly with a specific lawyer.

Manoj Abichandani is the head and brains behind trustdeed.com.au and a range of other websites offering legal documents and registrations. I asked Manoj whether he could tell us how the online sale of legal documents and registrations is changing.

Manoj talks a lot about the integration and building of interfaces between accountants and service providers, so-called APIs – Application Programming Interface. And I think he is onto something. Whether it is his services or from a different provider, I think integration is the next step in all this. At the moment everything is out there but offered in little bits and pieces, which slows us down.
